Khit Thit Media reported that Thar Si village was burned by SAC troops for the sixth consecutive day on 21 August 2023, causing a visible ash cloud over Kale township.

The burning of civilian infrastructure came after airstrikes allegedly hit the village on 15 August, following clashes between SAC and PDF forces in the area.

Many civilians were reportedly forced to flee.

Myanmar Witness geolocated drone footage of fires burning in the village and used FIRMS to verify a large heat signature on 17 August 2023.
