MilkTea Alliance Protest met with violent crackdown
The Milk Tea Alliance Protest on Insein road, Yangon was met with aggression from the military. At least 19 people were killed, including teacher Daw Tinnwe Yee. Multiple social media reports provided images of the Myanmar police force (Division 3) at the protest. The Milk Tea Alliance, which began in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand, gained traction in Myanmar as a movement which aims to protest against authoritarianism and stand up for democratic values.
