Vehicle identified as tank destroyer

Sittwe

The Arakan Army (AA) allegedly posted footage claiming to have destroyed two tank destroyers near Minn Chaung Bridge (20.298524, 92.893021) in Sittwe township on 28 Feb 2024.

Myanmar Witness investigators were able to identify the vehicle as an Assault gun WMA-301 (Tank Destroyer). It appears to have been fitted with anti-drone top armour.

This type of tank was previously spotted on the streets of Sittwe on 13 November 2023 in footage that was geolocated by Myanmar Witness.
